Terms of sale
These terms apply to goods and services you buy through Fygi's self-checkout service in a store, when the store has not published terms of sale of its own. They cover purchases made in the store's premises only, not online orders or home delivery. If the store has its own terms, those apply instead.
Version 1.0, last updated 23 October 2026.
The parties
The seller is the store you are shopping in ("the store"). Its name, address and organisation number are shown in the service when you open the store, and on your receipt. The buyer is the consumer who completes the purchase in the service.
Fygi AS, organisation number 932 169 630, Gladengveien 3B, 0661 Oslo, Norway, provides the technical service and is not the seller. The use of the service is governed by its own terms of service at fygi.no/tos-app.
These terms are based on the standard terms of sale published by the Norwegian Consumer Authority (Forbrukertilsynet), adapted to shopping in a physical store. The law gives you rights as a consumer that cannot be limited by agreement, and nothing here limits them.
Prices
The price shown in the service when you scan an item is the price you pay. Prices include VAT and all charges unless something else is stated clearly. Deposits (pant) and bag charges are shown as separate lines before you pay.
Campaigns, member prices and discount codes apply on the conditions the store states, and are applied in the service when the conditions are met. If a price in the service is obviously wrong, for example because of a technical error, and you should have realised it, the store is not bound by that price.
When the agreement is made
Your purchase is binding when you have confirmed it in the service and the payment is confirmed. The digital receipt in the service is the store's confirmation of the order and your proof of purchase. Check the receipt and tell the store straight away if it does not match what you bought.
If the store is unable to deliver an item you have paid for, for example because it is out of stock, the store refunds you for that item.
Payment
You pay through the payment method you choose in the service: Vipps, MobilePay, Swish, payment card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, cash or a payment terminal with help from staff, depending on what the store offers. The amount is charged when you confirm the purchase; some payment methods reserve the amount first and charge it when the purchase is completed.
The payment provider's own terms apply to the payment. Refunds are paid back to the payment method you used.
Collection
In the store you take the goods with you when you have paid. For an order you place in the store and collect at a counter, the service shows when the order is ready. Collect it on the day of the purchase unless the store says otherwise. The goods are at the store's risk until they are handed over to you.
Age limits and restricted goods
Alcohol, tobacco, nicotine products, certain medicines and other restricted goods are sold only to shoppers who meet the age limit that applies in the store's country. In Norway the limit is 18 for beer, wine, tobacco and nicotine products and 20 for spirits. The service marks such goods, and the store's staff confirm your age before the purchase is completed and may ask to see ID. The store may refuse a sale it is not permitted to make.
Right of withdrawal
Your purchase is made in the store's premises, so there is no statutory right of withdrawal, just as at an ordinary checkout. Your rights if the goods are defective are described below, and the store decides whether to offer returns or exchanges beyond that.
Defects and complaints
If the goods are defective, you have the rights that follow from the Norwegian Consumer Purchases Act (forbrukerkjøpsloven) or the corresponding law in the country where you bought the goods. Tell the store within a reasonable time after you discovered or should have discovered the defect. A complaint made within two months of discovering the defect is always in time. For purchases in Norway, the complaint must be made no later than two years after you received the goods, or five years for goods meant to last considerably longer. For purchases in other countries, the time limits in that country's consumer law apply.
Depending on the defect, you can ask the store to repair or replace the goods, give you a price reduction, or take the goods back and refund you. The store pays the costs of a justified complaint, including return shipping. Bring your digital receipt.
Complaints about the service itself, for example the app, go to Fygi at support@fygi.no.
Returns and exchanges
Beyond your statutory rights, exchanges and returns of goods without a defect are up to the store. Many stores offer a return or exchange period as a matter of goodwill; the store's own rules say whether, for how long and on which conditions. Keep the receipt.
Personal data
The store is responsible for personal data about your purchase and your membership, and its privacy notice applies. Fygi processes the data on the store's behalf, and its own processing in the service is described at fygi.no/privacy-policy-app.
Disputes
Norwegian law applies to purchases made in Norway. Purchases made in another country follow the consumer law of that country.
If you and the store cannot agree, you can take the matter to the Norwegian Consumer Authority (Forbrukertilsynet) for mediation and then to the Consumer Disputes Committee (Forbrukerklageutvalget). In Sweden you can contact the National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden), and in Germany a consumer advice centre (Verbraucherzentrale) or the competent conciliation body. You can also bring the matter before the ordinary courts.
